About Me

Welcome!

I’ve always been a doodler and a storyteller. In elementary school, it was horses, horses, horses.

In junior high, friends paid me to illustrate their lyric posters from the Beatles’ White Album.

After high school, I spent a year in Scotland studying painting and drawing at the Edinburgh College of Art.

Then I set aside my colored pens to focus on the computer keyboard.

I love my BuJo [Bullet Journal]. It’s like a pet you can draw on!

In December, 2017, I bought a deluxe 36-pack of Sharpie markers, and my love of drawing was reborn. I started keeping a Bullet Journal (Moleskine 5″ x 8.25″) in January, 2018, and filled it up by May. I quickly discovered that having an “Everything Book” gave me a place where all my diverse ideas and thoughts could coalesce into a mix of pictures and words that reflect my deepest feelings.

On August 14, 2018, my “Crone’s Guide to the Landscape and Climate of Menopause” was published at The Rumpus. Getting to share my work with a wider audience has been absolutely exhilarating and exciting, especially since I’m spending this week among artists of all ages at Cazadero Family Performing Arts Camp. Here’s some of the feedback that makes me really happy!

In May 2021, I hung my first watercolor art exhibit of 10 framed paintings at The Hills Swim & Tennis Club in Oakland. You can view it here.

As the parent of a young teenager, I’ve taken to using pictures in place of lectures to communicate what I want my daughter to understand about life. Amazing how much easier it is to take in information in this form!

Enjoy!
